Discover Sinatra's Pizza

If you ever find yourself driving along Route 31 in Flemington, New Jersey, chances are the aroma of fresh dough and melted mozzarella will pull you straight into Sinatra’s Pizza at 40 NJ-31, Flemington, NJ 08822, United States. This cozy diner-style pizzeria doesn’t just serve pizza-it serves comfort. From the moment you step inside, the inviting scent of oregano and roasted garlic fills the air, and the friendly staff makes you feel like you’ve been coming here for years.

One of my most memorable visits was on a rainy Friday evening. I ordered their classic Margherita pizza-thin, crisp crust, perfectly charred edges, and a sauce that tasted like it came straight from an Italian grandmother’s kitchen. The chef, Tony, mentioned that they use locally sourced ingredients from nearby farms, including fresh basil from a Flemington grower. That commitment to quality shows in every bite.

Their menu doesn’t stop at pizza, though. You’ll find hearty pasta dishes like penne alla vodka, creamy fettuccine Alfredo, and baked ziti that could rival any Italian eatery in New Jersey. The chicken parmigiana is another fan favorite, layered with golden-breaded chicken, melted cheese, and a rich marinara sauce. For something lighter, their Caesar salad, topped with homemade dressing and toasted croutons, balances freshness with flavor beautifully.

Locals often rave about the friendly service and consistency of their meals. Online reviews highlight the staff’s attention to detail-remembering regular customers’ favorite orders and offering warm smiles that make dining here a personal experience. A Google reviewer recently wrote that the “grandma slice” was “pure nostalgia,” perfectly balancing crunch and chew. I couldn’t agree more; it’s the kind of slice that reminds you why classic pizzerias never go out of style.

In terms of dining experience, Sinatra’s offers both dine-in and takeout, making it perfect for families, couples, or anyone craving a casual Italian meal. On weekends, it’s common to see locals gathering over shared pies and laughter. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet lively-red-checkered tablecloths, soft music in the background, and the occasional sizzle of fresh pizzas sliding out of the oven.

Food critics and culinary enthusiasts have praised small, family-owned establishments like this one for maintaining authenticity in a world dominated by fast-food chains. According to the National Restaurant Association, nearly 70% of diners prefer restaurants that prepare food from scratch using traditional recipes. Sinatra’s fits right into that category. Their method of slow-rising dough, daily sauce preparation, and in-house cheese blending demonstrates not only expertise but also dedication to culinary craft.

One fascinating detail Tony shared was how they balance tradition with innovation. Every few months, Sinatra’s introduces a seasonal special-like the truffle mushroom pizza or the pesto chicken flatbread-to keep the menu exciting without losing its roots. This blend of creativity and respect for tradition is what sets them apart from the average pizzeria.

Their location on Route 31 makes them a convenient stop for travelers heading through Hunterdon County, yet it’s also a community hub for locals. Whether you’re grabbing lunch during a work break or sitting down for a family dinner, there’s a sense of belonging that makes every visit memorable.

Trustworthiness is another reason Sinatra’s stands strong in the community. They maintain transparency about ingredients and preparation methods, clearly listing allergens and using fresh, certified ingredients. During the pandemic, they adapted quickly-offering curbside pickup and ensuring safe dining conditions without compromising quality.

While no restaurant is perfect, Sinatra’s sets the bar high for casual Italian dining. It’s not about flashy décor or modern gimmicks-it’s about honest, flavorful food made with care. For those who believe pizza is more than a meal, it’s an experience, this place delivers that feeling every time you take a bite.

From its welcoming service to its timeless flavors, Sinatra’s Pizza in Flemington isn’t just a local favorite-it’s a slice of comfort that keeps people coming back for more.

  • We received coupons in a mailer and we had never tried their pizza before, so we figured we’d give it a shot. Pizza is excellent, the sauce is absolutely delicious and the crust is fantastic! Soft and pillowy, while the rest of the pizza was well done, just how we like it. The customer service was outstanding and everyone in there is so kind. Will definitely be returning for our Friday night pizza fix!

  • Really (REALLY!) good food, service & environment. We spontaneously picked up a bottle of wine and stopped in not really knowing what to expect. So happy we did - great (GREAT!) Margherita pizza & salad…get the Margherita and ask for some balsamic glaze to go with it and you will want to come again! And we will! Thank you!

  • I finally visited Sinatras after countless recommendations, and while the pizza was certainly good, it didn't quite live up to the hype. The restaurant itself is a delightful homage to Frank Sinatra, with his iconic photos adorning the walls. The staff was friendly and the menu offered a variety of mixed pies, making it easy to please different palates. The cheese was flavorful but a bit too oily for my taste, and the sauce was decent. The dough and crust was ok but not thin and crispy. The pizza itself earned a 7.5 out of 10.

  • Bob and I have been to just about every restaurant in Flemington and beyond! So when he said we were going to Sumatra’s on route 31, I thought oh good the pizzeria. We go there and we’re greeted by Giovanni who runs the place. I said to Bob oh it’s so damn bright in here. So we ordered appetizers bruschetta bread and garlic bread. The bruschetta bread was the very best I have had anywhere and that’s saying a lot. You may say so what so bruschetta bread was good. No it does matter and this was excellent and so was the fresh garlic bread. The chef shows he or she cares. Then came my chicken franchise and the chicken parm and ziti. Well let me tell you everything was excellent. So so good. I feel that at this point I qualified to critique, and this is not a pizzeria, ita a fine Italian food restaurant. Loved it and if you don’t go you are truly missing out. Giovanni said he would tone down the lighting lol. Other than that bon apetit! !!! Soli and Bobby 2/8/24.

  • First time here. I thought the pizza was very good! Got a veggie pizza to go. It was $22 but I had a coupon so not bad. The veggies were very good and the pizza was crunchy. Looking forward to trying something else!
